The approach and initiative of the artist is of themost interesting: he builds an image to deconstruct it then by means of analmost surgical intervention. He cuts by hand in small strips its photos whichhe beforehand printed in several copies; then, he braids them so as toreconstitute an image " gaufrée " and blurred, disturbing then itsreading. The reconstituted photography seems pixelated. The sociologicalapproach of the subject is returned by a unique and particular visualsignature. However, more and more, the plaiting is partial; it is only the partof his work that he makes undergo this treatment and process.
By its representations of almost essentially femininebodies, Rondeau approaches diverse aspects of the sexuality. He questions ourtaboos, sometimes shocks our customs … His images, of large formats for thegreater part, offer a contents disturbing but marked with meaning. His corpusis not that visually schemer, it is the speech of a man and an artist in themultiple concerns who wishes to make message pass so social as personal whilebringing an awareness on the past, the present and the future. The artist givesthe starting point to the reading of the image: he presents us a face, asymbol, an iconography … He draws the path to be taken, but it is up to thelooking to make its own reading and its personal interpretation. That we like ornot what is visually presented to us, his works certainly, generatesquestionings …
By his characters at the middle fictitious, at themiddle-human beings often naked, the photographer suggests an interestingdichotomy: the visit of the truth and the forgery engenders a feeling ofincapacity to be situated us in the time and to take a stand on the denouncedtaboo. The lack of mark plunges us into an imperceptible timelessness, analmost surrealist world.
The corpus of Rondeau is an introspective andinquiring look on its first environment, that of the fashion and theadvertising. His photographic bas-reliefs are enigmatic both because of thebottom and of the shape. His technique, which requires patience and accuracy, contrast with the subject at the same time " trash " and provocation. Most of its models are professional models otherwise people chosen according toits inspiration. Bodies, as for them, possess a plastic aspect and the presentcolors are brilliant and lively. The pink, symbolizing a stereotypical worldwhere the search for the physical perfection is the first concern, isrecurring.
