Return policy

Return Eligibility

Artistic satisfaction is our priority at Galerie la Chèvre Rose. If you are not completely satisfied with your acquisition, the artwork is eligible for return within a strict window of 7 days following the date of reception. To be eligible for a return, the artwork must remain in its original condition; any items damaged, altered, or marked by the customer after delivery will not be accepted for refund. Please note that all return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the customer. To ensure consistency and safety for the artwork, every return must be processed using the specific shipping service chosen and authorized by the gallery. We recommend contacting us immediately upon deciding to return a piece to ensure the 7-day window is respected and to receive the appropriate shipping instructions.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that circumstances may change shortly after a purchase. A full cancellation and refund are only possible if the request is made prior to the artwork being dispatched for shipping. Once the shipping process has been initiated and the work has left the gallery, the order can no longer be cancelled, and the standard return policy will apply instead. This ensures that the logistics of art transport are managed efficiently and that the works are not subject to unnecessary transit.

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact the gallery via email or phone as soon as possible. Should the return policy be triggered because the item is already in transit, remember that the customer must cover the return shipping fees. As with all our logistical procedures, any return triggered by a post-shipping cancellation must be conducted through the shipping service chosen by the gallery. We strive to process all pre-shipping refunds within a timely manner, typically returning funds to the original payment method used during the transaction. This policy helps us maintain the integrity of our inventory and ensures that artist's works are handled with the professional care they deserve.

Damaged or Defective Items

In the unfortunate event that an item arrives damaged or defective, Galerie la Chèvre Rose provides a full refund, provided the gallery is informed immediately upon reception. It is the customer's responsibility to inspect the artwork thoroughly the moment it is delivered. You must contact the gallery right away to report any issues; failure to do so may result in the claim being denied. Once contacted, we will evaluate the situation to recognize if the damage occurred during transport rather than through customer manipulation.

  • If the gallery confirms transport damage, we will provide a pre-paid shipping label for the return.
  • The shipping back to the gallery will be fully covered by us in these specific instances.
  • Customers will receive their full refund within 5 business days after the work is received back at the gallery.
  • As per our standard safety protocol, the return must be handled by the shipping service chosen by the gallery.
  • Digital photographic evidence of the damage to both the packaging and the artwork is highly recommended for our records.

Exchanges

Exchanges are treated as a separate category of transaction and are not accepted once the initial 7-day return policy window has passed. If you wish to exchange an item within the valid 7-day period, the original item must first be returned in perfect condition. Please be aware that all shipping fees associated with sending the original artwork back to the gallery are at the customer's expense. Furthermore, to maintain the security of the art pieces, every exchange-related return must be performed using the shipping service chosen by the gallery. Once the returned item is inspected and cleared, a credit or exchange for another available work of art can be coordinated.

Return Process

The safety of the artwork during transit is paramount. All artworks returned to Galerie la Chèvre Rose must be repackaged exactly the same way they were originally shipped by the gallery, using all original protective materials. If an item is returned and found to be damaged due to poor or inadequate packaging by the customer, the item will not be eligible for a refund. We provide these strict guidelines to protect the unique nature of the paintings and to ensure they return to our Gatineau location in gallery-ready condition.

  • Use the original crate or heavy-duty box and all internal corner protectors provided.
  • Ensure the shipping service chosen by the gallery is the only one utilized for the return.
  • Document the repacking process to show the item was secured according to gallery standards.
